Wombat Books publisher and editors offer picture book appraisals. We offer these through our consultancy service of Book Whispers.
This is not the same as a pitch. There is no obligation to submit to Wombat Books and this does not constitute a submission. There is an option to click in the form below if you would like your manuscript considered a pitch.
Have two runs at your picture book manuscript and receive further editing feedback with this upgraded version of the appraisal. Please note this for the same manuscript not two different manuscripts.
What do you get?
- A summary of how we interpreted your work so you can check whether it's coming across as you wanted
- Marketability of your title
- Things that work
- Things that need improvement
- Light editing suggestions on flow, etc.
- Recommendations for age range (or if you should adjust)
When you've completed your order, please submit the details of your manuscript on the below form. Turnaround time on most appraisals is 4 weeks. The form gives instructions on where to email your manuscript.
After your first run at the appraisal, you can re-send your updated script to our editing team for an updated appraisal. This option is designed to help mentor you further through your picture book manuscript.
