Heather Gallagher is a children's writer whose first chapter book, Ferret on the Loose, was published in 2013. Her stories for children have appeared in black dog books' Short & Scary anthology and Explore magazine.
Heather began her writing career as a journalist and her work has appeared in The Age, The Melbourne Times and Leader newspapers.

Happy Pants, which tells the story of a boy grappling with his mother's PND, was Heather's first picture book. Her goal was to provide a resource for parents and others who have the difficult task of explaining PND to children.
