Wombat Books publisher and its editors offer picture book appraisals. We offer these through our consultancy service of Book Whispers.
This is not the same as a pitch. There is no obligation to submit to Wombat Books and this does not constitute a submission. This is a consulting service, but with the benefit of Wombat staff who are editors and authors themselves. If you would like to submit any manuscript to Wombat Books, you will need to do so when submissions are open.

- Things that work
- Suggestions for improvement
- Feedback on illustration notes and cover letters if provided
- Recommendations for age range (or if you should adjust)
- Editing suggestions for your manuscript
When you've completed your order, please submit the details of your manuscript on the below form. Turnaround time on most appraisals is 4 weeks. The form gives instructions on where to email your manuscript. We can refer authors for further editing after the appraisal is complete if desired.
