Liane Young’s interest in writing hit a high when, in Year Two, her short story was featured in the primary school newsletter, a feat previously reserved for pupils in Years Three and above. Perhaps peaking too early, only a smattering of story writing competition wins was to follow.
Due to a love of learning and a case of chronic indecision, Liane then became a professional student. While holding down casual work as a maths and English tutor, a brief stint as a paralegal and a fast food drive thru cashier (the funniest job ever), she collected a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws degree, a Certificate III in Fitness and a Diploma of Library and Information Services. This last one finally secured her work at a really brilliant library, and her love for writing reignited.
Liane was born and grew up in western Sydney. Bronte’s Big Business, published by Wombat Books, is her first children’s book.
