Liane Young’s interest in writing hit a high when in Year Two her short story was featured in the primary school newsletter, an honour previously reserved for pupils in Years Three and above. Let’s hope she didn’t peak too soon. Ever since, writing has been an integral part of her life and (rather ironically) she can’t even find the words to explain why. It just feels like the most natural thing to do. After finishing high school, a case of chronic career indecisiveness motivated Liane to become a professional student. While holding down casual work as a maths and English tutor, a fast food drive thru cashier (the weirdest, most entertaining job ever) and a brief stint as a paralegal, she collected a Bachelor of Arts/Law Degree, a Cert. III in Fitness, and a Diploma of Library/Information Services. This last one finally secured her work at a brilliant library.
Liane was born and grew up in Western Sydney. Bronte’s Big Business, published by Wombat Books, is her first children’s book.
