Jacinta Lou lives in the bush in Tasmania with her black pug, Princess Bellatrix, several alpacas, lots of chooks, and one very grand rooster. In past lives, Jacinta has been a soldier, a police officer, a private investigator and worked in community development. She has also performed on stage and has recited chocolate-themed poetry.
She was awarded an ASA/CA Mentorship for 2024 for a picture book. Jacinta loves being part of Australia's kidlit community and has completed courses with the AWC, Zanni Louise, Jen Storer and Sally Odgers.
Jacinta creates fun stories that inspire children to ask questions and make sense of their world. She has published poetry and short stories for children and looks forward to publishing more in the future.
When she isn't writing, she is often thinking about writing or talking about writing, or just sitting on her deck talking to the birds and watching the wildlife.
