Product Overview

Saturday 15th August 9:00am Queensland Time.

Would you like to hear directly from Rochelle Stephens, publisher from Rhiza Press (including Wombat Books and Riveted Press from October this year), what she's looking for in upper middle grade/young adult fiction in 2026 and 2027?

This is an info session for publishing. There are no costs for submission and you are not required to attend an event to submit, this is just an opportunity to learn more directly from the publisher.

At this event, Rochelle will explain:

  • The submission process for middle grade and young adult fiction at Wombat Books including length, genres of interests and tips
  • What Rhiza Press will be looking for in 2026 and perhaps 2027 if you are planning on working on something!
  • Provide examples of some of our current titles including the publishing process and why we chose them for publication.

Each session will go for an hour/allowing for a little over time for questions and will not be recorded. Limited questions will be answered at the end from the chat function. There will be time for some elevator line practice pitches so bring your elevator line pitch and Rochelle will say yes or no whether she would read more. (This is not an actual pitch, just meant as practice and testing to see what you might like to submit during open submissions).

We charge $50 for three of our featured books listed below which will be posted to every attendee (actually better value than RRP!).

A zoom link will be sent to you the day before the information session. It will all be online.

Summer Change (Sweet Romance, Drama)

Last Chance Joey (Drama, family, contemporary)

Keeper of the Archives (Sci-Fi)
