Kellie Nissen, a third-generation Canberran, has lived in Japan and elsewhere in Australia but prefers her hometown, where she now works as an editor and university lecturer in education, in between wrangling two pugs.
Kellie writes for young people and adults. Drawn to voice, character and the moments that shape who we become, one simple belief lies at the heart of her work: everyone has a story to share.
When she isn’t writing or teaching, Kellie can usually be found on the water, dragon boating with Dragons Abreast Canberra, a pursuit that keeps her grounded, slightly sore and constantly reminded that rhythm, teamwork and persistence matter just as much on the page as they do in a boat.
