Juliet A. Paine has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Adelaide. She has previously published two collections of poetry: Poems for a Paranoid Generation (Ginninderra Press 2001) and Foxes & Water Tanks (Picaro Press 2010), and also co-edited Catching Fire: Friendly Street Poets 33 (Wakefield Press 2009). Her writing has been featured on ABC Radio National, and published in The Weekend Australian, Voiceworks, Eureka Street, Southern Review, Going Down Swinging, Social Alternatives and on the Red Room Poetry website. She has been the recipient of grants from both ArtsSA, the South Australian Youth Arts Board, and a 2020 Varuna Residential Fellowship. In 2024, her first YA novel, The Tempus Imperium was released by Rhiza Edge.
