Brenton Cullen is passionate about writing stories from the heart for children and young adults. He has written articles and interviewed authors for such publications as Books+Publishing, Magpies, Writing QLD and Good Reading.
Brenton is a bookseller, a book reviewer, a beta reader and manuscript assessor, and an enthusiastic advocate for children's literature. He is the 2023 recipient of the Ian Wilson Memorial Fellowship, bestowed by the May Gibbs Children's Literature Trust. He is the winner of the 2024 Just Write For Kids Pitch It! Competition (Middle-Grade Category).
Brenton's debut novel, The Prime Minister Problem, was published by Riveted Press in May 2026 and was shortlisted for Speech Pathology Australia's Book of the Year award. His debut picture book, Meena's Moving Day, is due to be published by Wombat Books in October 2026. He hopes there will be many more books to come.
